June 23. The pace of decline in the German economy has eased, however, the bottom will be reached in mid-2010, at the earliest, Germany’s central bank said in its report. Bundesbank noted that external demand is regaining positions slowly, whereas growth of internal demand is hindered by a lack of domestic investments. “A sharp decline in industrial output since autumn last year has recently eased”, the bank said in its report. “Although the situation with industrial orders has recently improved from an extremly low level in early 2009, the economy is not expected to hit bottom until mid-2010”, the report says. According to the Bundesbank, private consumption remains a stabilizing factor for the largest economy in the Eurozone.
