Feb 8. Gazprom expects a 60% rise in net profit of its OGKs and TGKs in FY 2009. Gazprom, which in the course of power utility sector reform has gained control over four large generating companies, expects a 60% rise in net profits of OGKs and TGKs to USD 211 mn, according to the gas concern’s presentation for the investor day. Gazprom, which controls Mosenergo, TGK-1, OGK-2 and OGK-6 and looking to gain a leadership status in the Russian generation sector, last year slashed electricity output 8.5% on its power plants in crisis-ridden 2009 and accounted for some 17% of national output, the presentation says.
